Terms and Conditions – NUMI v1

Welcome to NUMI ("the App"). These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the NUMI mobile application.

By downloading, installing, or using NUMI, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. About NUMI

NUMI is a personal finance application designed to help users:

• Track income and expenses
• Create budgets
• Categorise transactions
• View spending reports and charts
• Import financial transactions manually or through optional bank SMS reading

NUMI is intended as a personal financial management tool and does not provide financial, legal, accounting, investment, or tax advice.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use NUMI.

If you are under the age required by the laws of your country, you must use the App with permission from a parent or legal guardian.

3. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

• Use NUMI only for lawful purposes.
• Enter accurate information where applicable.
• Keep your device secure.
• Protect access to your device using a PIN, password, fingerprint, or other security methods.
• Be responsible for all information stored within the App.

You are solely responsible for any financial decisions made based on the information generated by NUMI.

4. SMS Reading (Optional Feature)

NUMI provides an optional feature that allows automatic reading of selected bank SMS messages.

By enabling this feature, you acknowledge that:

• You voluntarily grant SMS permission.
• You select which bank SMS messages NUMI should process.
• NUMI analyses only supported bank transaction messages for expense tracking.
• You may disable SMS access at any time through your device settings.

SMS access is completely optional. You can continue using NUMI by manually entering transactions or copying and pasting SMS messages.

5. Accuracy of Transaction Detection

NUMI uses predefined rules and pattern recognition to identify financial transactions from SMS messages.

Although we strive for accuracy:

• Automatic transaction detection may occasionally misclassify or fail to recognise certain messages.
• Merchant names and categories may not always be correct.
• Users are responsible for reviewing and correcting imported transactions where necessary.

NUMI does not guarantee 100% accuracy of automated transaction processing.

6. Local Data Storage

In Version 1:

• Your financial data is stored locally on your device.
• NUMI does not require a user account.
• Cloud synchronisation is not available.
• Data may be permanently lost if your device is reset, damaged, or the App is uninstalled without a device backup.

Users are responsible for maintaining any backups supported by their device.

7. Advertisements

NUMI may display advertisements through third-party advertising providers, such as Google AdMob.

Advertisements help support the ongoing development and maintenance of the App.

NUMI does not sell your financial transaction data to advertisers.

8. Intellectual Property

NUMI, including its:

• Name
• Logo
• Design
• User interface
• Source code
• Graphics
• Features
• Documentation

is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You may not:

• Copy
• Modify
• Reverse engineer
• Redistribute
• Sell
• Licence
• Create derivative works from the App

without prior written permission from the owner of NUMI.

9. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to:

• Use NUMI for illegal or fraudulent activities.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the App.
• Interfere with the App's operation.
• Use automated tools to manipulate the App.
• Modify or bypass security features.

10. Disclaimer

NUMI is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.

While we make every effort to provide a reliable application, we do not guarantee that:

• The App will always be error-free.
• The App will always be available.
• Every transaction will be detected correctly.
• Reports will always be completely accurate.

NUMI should not be relied upon as the sole source of financial records.

Always verify important financial information using your official bank statements.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, NUMI and its developers shall not be liable for any:

• Financial losses
• Loss of profits
• Data loss
• Business interruption
• Incorrect financial decisions
• Device damage
• Indirect or consequential damages

arising from your use of the App.

Your use of NUMI is entirely at your own risk.

12. Privacy

Your use of NUMI is also governed by the Privacy Policy, which explains how your information is collected, processed, and stored.

By using NUMI, you acknowledge that you have read the Privacy Policy.

13. Updates

NUMI may periodically receive updates that:

• Improve performance
• Fix bugs
• Add new features
• Improve security
• Support additional banks

Some features may change or be removed without prior notice.

14. Suspension or Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the App if:

• These Terms are violated.
• The App is used for unlawful purposes.
• Continued use poses security or operational risks.

15. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Sri Lanka, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any disputes relating to these Terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Sri Lanka.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time.

Any changes will become effective once the updated version is published within the App or on the official NUMI website.

Continued use of the App after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
