Thank you for using NUMI ("the App"). Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how NUMI collects, uses, stores, and protects your information.

By using NUMI, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

1. About NUMI

NUMI is a personal finance application designed to help users track income, expenses, budgets, and spending habits.

Version 1 (V1) is built with a privacy-first approach. Your financial information belongs to you.

2. Information We Collect

Depending on the features you use, NUMI may process the following information:

Financial Information

• Transactions you manually enter
• Account names (if you create them)
• Categories
• Budgets
• Notes attached to transactions

SMS Information (Optional)

If you enable Automatic SMS Reading, NUMI may read only SMS messages from banks that you specifically choose.

The app uses these messages only to:

• Detect financial transactions
• Extract transaction amounts
• Identify merchants
• Classify income and expenses

NUMI does not read all of your SMS messages.

This feature is disabled by default and requires your explicit permission.

Manual SMS Import

If you choose not to enable SMS access, you can manually copy and paste bank SMS messages into NUMI.

Only the SMS text you paste is processed.

3. Permissions

NUMI may request the following Android permissions.

SMS Permission (Optional)

Purpose:

• Read selected bank SMS messages
• Automatically create transactions

This permission is completely optional.

You can revoke it at any time from your device settings.

4. How Your Data Is Used

NUMI uses your information only to:

• Record transactions
• Categorise spending
• Generate financial reports
• Create charts
• Calculate budgets
• Analyse spending trends
• Improve transaction accuracy

NUMI does not use your financial information for advertising.

5. Local Storage

In Version 1, your financial data is stored locally on your device.

This means:

• Your transaction history stays on your phone.
• Your budgets stay on your phone.
• Your categories stay on your phone.
• Your SMS-derived transactions stay on your phone.

NUMI does not upload your financial data to our servers in Version 1 unless a future feature explicitly asks for your permission.

6. Cloud Features

NUMI V1 does not require an account.

Cloud backup, synchronisation, and online storage are not enabled in this version.

Future versions may introduce optional cloud services. If that happens, this Privacy Policy will be updated before those features become available.

7. Data Sharing

NUMI does not sell your personal information.

We do not share your financial data with:

• Advertisers
• Marketing companies
• Data brokers
• Banks
• Government agencies (unless legally required)

8. Third-Party Services

NUMI may use trusted third-party services to support app functionality.

Examples include:

• Google Play Services
• Firebase Crashlytics (for crash reporting, if enabled)
• Firebase Analytics (only if enabled)
• Google AdMob (for displaying advertisements)

These services may collect limited technical information according to their own privacy policies.

NUMI does not share your financial transaction details with these services.

9. Advertisements

NUMI may display advertisements using Google AdMob.

Advertising providers may collect limited device information such as:

• Device type
• Advertising ID
• Approximate location (if permitted)
• Ad interactions

NUMI does not provide your financial transactions or SMS contents to advertising providers.

10. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including:

• Local encrypted storage where supported
• Secure application architecture
• Permission-based access
• No unnecessary data collection

However, no software can guarantee absolute security.

11. Your Choices

You can:

• Use NUMI without enabling SMS access.
• Delete transactions whenever you want.
• Remove budgets.
• Disable SMS permissions.
• Uninstall the app to remove locally stored data (unless separately backed up by your device).

12. Children's Privacy

NUMI is not intended for children under the age of 13.

We do not knowingly collect information from children.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.

When significant changes are made, the updated policy will be published with a new effective date.
